Day before CMA exam

Tomorrow I sit for the first CMA exam. I have been studying for the past several days, taking practice tests, reviewing various textbook sections, and memorizing formulas. Yesterday I did a full 4-hour exam simulation without taking a break, and it’s reassuring I can at least sit for that long. I was able to get through everything with a little time to spare, so if I really need a quick bathroom break during the actual exam I should be able to take one.

I’ve barely been out of the apartment, but I’m taking it relatively easy today as recommended by my study programme and get out for a short walk to St. Patrick’s. The weather has been warmer, in the 50s F / low 10s C, with partially cloudy skies and rain showers here and there. Some easing of restrictions went into effect on Monday, and it does seem like more people are out and about. Barber shops and salons are finally open again!

Later this afternoon I have a first interview with Jigsaw, Ireland’s national youth mental health agency. Then on Friday, I’ll have a second interview with The Outhouse LGBT Centre. I also need to finally file my taxes. I logged back into TaxAct yesterday and was pleased to see that the amount I owed had been significantly reduced, thanks to unemployment benefits becoming tax-free with the passage of the American Rescue Plan. Speaking of unemployment benefits, I’m still waiting to see if an extension comes through… I received a confusing letter from the California EDD earlier this week (delivered to my mailbox service in SF). We’ll see if I’m able to certify for benefits next week. It would definitely help!

Until next time….
