My time is Strasbourg has been very relaxing and low key, so not much to report. My friend O and her boyfriend S have been providing lots of high quality food, wine and company. This afternoon we had a hearty lunch of pan cooked duck breast, mashed potatoes, and green bean & bacon “bundles.” Tonight we played cards, shared laughs, and nibbled on delectable apéro — a magnum of champagne served with foie gras, shrimp & avocado verrines, smoked salmon, and salmon caviar. I am grateful to start 2021 among good friends.
Meanwhile, Ireland is back to a full lockdown through at least the end of January with only essential businesses allowed to stay open, travel restricted to 5 km from home, and no socializing indoors. New COVID-19 cases have been doubling every 7-10 days or so, although on the bright side vaccinations have begun to be rolled out.
Until next time…
