This morning I email Jigsaw letting them know I’m interested in accepting the job offer, but that I’d like to start part-time until I’m through my 2nd CMA exam. I speak with one of the HR persons mid-day, and she confirms that this shouldn’t be a problem. I still have to go through Garda/police vetting and provide reference checks before things are finalized. I may start as early as June 8 (Monday June 7th is a bank holiday here), or the following week, June 14th. It’s a relief to have some clarity of purpose, at least in the short-term.
The rest of the day I spend studying some CMA lessons, trading texts with a friend back in the U.S. whose birthday it today, and looking through apartment listings to get an idea of what other options might be out there. I’m not ready to make any decisions yet about changing apartments, but it’s reassuring that there appear to be some other decent places available for around what I pay or less. Ideally, I would find something more affordable so that I could reduce my monthly budget gap and stretch out savings even further.
Today has been partly cloudy with no rain, and warmer into the lower 60s F / upper 10s C. This evening I head out for a walk to St. Patrick’s Cathedral park, passing by Christchurch along the way to and from. The park stays open until 9:00pm, which is around the time I took the photos below. Dublin may not be a grandiose as other European cities, but it has its moments… I actually like its smaller scale.
Until next time….
