After a stressful week with work, I had a relatively full weekend of social activities that were a welcome distraction. On Saturday, I had a coffee date in the afternoon with a new friend in Dublin 8, then dinner and drinks with my friend CJ, and finally a couple of beers with my friend J on Capel Street. I enjoyed sleeping late on Sunday, then met up with a new American friend for a nice dinner out then later some whiskey at the Foggy Dew (a traditional pub that runs partway underneath Sprangers Yard — I had never been in there yet). I only wish I had the benefit of a long Labor Day weekend like in the U.S.
The weather today (Monday) was quite nice with highs in the lower 70s F / 20s C. Work continues to be stressful and overwhelming. Determined to get out of the apartment, I met up with my friend N after work for a walk in Phoenix Park I hadn’t been there in months, and in fact I haven’t been very far away from the city centre at all lately. I was rewarded with a big sky view of sunset and even a couple of deer sightings. We clocked in almost 10,000 steps in about 1.5 hours, with some ups and downs, which made for some good exercise. The last couple of weeks I’ve been short of my goal of having a weekly average of 5,000 steps per day, but at least I’ve started off this week on a good foot (literally).
As a result I’m a bit tired now, so I’ll wrap up this post with a few photos from the past few days:
Until next time….
