It’s been another long week at work, and it’s only Wednesday. The stress is really getting to me. After work this evening I got out for a quick walk. The Christmas lights hung around Grafton Street are in their full glory in preparation for Black Friday later this week. It’s been chilly, with highs in mid 40s F / mid to upper single digits C.
I’ve been fighting off symptoms of a cold… scratchy throat, sinus congestion, and fatigue. I pick up some antigen tests at the local Dunnes grocery shop. The first couple I try don’t seem to work at all. Finally, I get a negative result… the solid C line is the control indicator, meaning that the test is working as it should. A line on the T indicate a positive test result. Each test costs €2.99, although there has been a call for the government to subsidize the cost to encourage people to use the tests more. The surge of new COVID cases in Ireland seems to have slowed off somewhat, although it’s still too early to tell if the reimposed restrictions and the call for less social contacts have made any difference.
Until next time….
